Caring for your Anthurium
The Coral Anthurium (Anthurium andraeanum), often called the “flamingo flower,” is prized for its glossy, vibrant coloring. Fun fact: Anthuriums are known as the world’s longest blooming houseplant — each bloom can last up to eight weeks! And new ones will pop up often. Another fun fact: Those “blooms” aren’t actual flowers, but a type of modified leaf structure called a spathe; the flowers are tiny blooms along the central spadix (the narrow yellow structure that emanates from the center of the bloom). Anthuriums flourish and bloom best in bright, indirect light.

Plant Care
- Thrives in bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Avoid direct sun.
- Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light. This plant can benefit from extra humidity.
- The Anthurium's blooms aren't actual flowers, but modified waxy leaves known as spathes. After about a month, spathes will start to fade with age.
